Those of you that read VIS from time to time might as I have wondered what it means when a bishop resignes "according to Can. 401, §2". Well, here is the answer:
Taken from Anne Elliot:
Can. 401 §2. A diocesan bishop who has become less able to fulfill his office because of ill health or some other grave cause is earnestly requested to present his resignation from office.
Just one of the things I've wanted to know but never looked up before.
